Waiting on You Mar 07, 2023

For the person waiting on...

The right time

More money

A proposal

Kids to go back to school

Kids to go to college

A better job

A medical test

For someone to come back home

For someone to apologize

For someone to approve

For someone else to make the first move...

YOU are really just waiting on YOU.

A few years ago, I told this to a coach of mine- that I was waiting on something to happen before I...

That I needed THE WAIT to be over and HAVE what I was waiting for so I could be more...

Dancing with the Devil Mar 07, 2023

I remember when I couldn't say his name.
Uttering the word just seemed odd
made it weird
and unreal
Like he was just some made up monster talked about by evangelical preachers screaming about fire and brimstone and snakes
Then I heard the word Enemy

so many times,
I thought,

Well...
Ain’t that BS.
The word Enemy just didn't seem strong enough

for the war waging in my head
So
Devil

Seems like a battle worthy name after all
He is hard
And stubborn
And loud and incessant
Like A big ole bully twice fa...

Checked Boxes Mar 07, 2023

When we were kids and we used to pass notes in class

Remember?

We drew little square boxes

Do you like me

We wrote

Check Yes or Check No. Full of hope

I did this folded the note

and passed it around the class to the boy

Two rows over and three seats back

My face flush red As anxiety feverishly rushed over me

watching him unfold my hope

and my dream What would he check? Yes

Or

No?

Did he like me Did he find me pretty Did he want to go steady
At just 13 I unfolded the returned note

Eventually Mar 07, 2023

I am not an "eventually" kind of woman. I am the kind of woman you scoop up and claim and embrace before someone else will. I am not

an "eventually" kind of woman. I am the kind of woman you hold on to because I fly high and have places to go and dreams to make happen. I am the kind of woman who will change the world one person at a time. I am not

an "eventually" kind of woman.

I am the kind of woman who stares fear in the eyes, stands tall and breathes brave. I do not falter.

I do not wait....

Top 10 Tips for Living a Relentless Life For Better Mar 07, 2023

I hate rules.

I am the FIRST to say let’s break them. Find a way around them.

BUT, in all my breaking

I’ve made some messes

and in those messes, I started noticing patterns and reoccurring Oops episodes that eventually I knew I needed to interrupt.

So rather than follow someone else’s rules, I started making up my own and compiling a list of the repeated practices that I’ve learned the hard way.

They help me keep going.

They help me not quit.

They help m...

What If? Mar 07, 2023

What if you turned all your worrying, wandering, wondering What Ifs into What Ifs that actually freed you to create your world where your worries didn’t win and you did?

When I worry,

And I won’t lie

I do

I picture my grandma holding me in her old wooden rocking chair singing Kumbaya.

I am 8 years old laying limp in her lap with my head on her chest with my arms and legs dangling like a rag doll across her body.

She rocks me back and forth singing this soft gentle...
